Microsoft is held by hundreds of ETFs, but how much it matters to each fund varies enormously. In a broad index fund it may be one holding among thousands; in a sector or thematic fund it can be one of the largest positions.
The first table shows the funds where Microsoft has the biggest weight, which tells you how much a fund depends on it. The second shows the funds holding the most Microsoft stock in dollars. Weights come from each fund’s latest holdings report filed with the SEC.
The most Microsoft per dollar
Funds where Microsoft makes up the biggest share of the portfolio. The higher the weight, the more the fund rises and falls with Microsoft.
VGT has the most, with 11.32% of the fund in Microsoft.
The heaviest broad market fund on this list is USSG at 10.24%.
Most of these funds are sector, US growth, US stock market, screened and esg funds.
A fund with a large Microsoft weight will move a lot with the stock. If you already own Microsoft directly or through an index fund, adding a heavy holder concentrates your bet.

Microsoft is in the S&P 500, so every S&P 500 fund holds it in proportion to its market value, as do total US market funds.
Is it better to buy Microsoft stock or an ETF that holds it?
Owning the stock gives you all of its ups and downs. An ETF spreads your money across many companies, so one company’s bad news hurts less. Which suits you depends on how much single-company risk you want.
