The short version

Praxis Impact Large Cap Value ETF (PRXV) holds about 275 large US value stocks. It aims to track the risk and return of the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index while leaving out companies that clash with Praxis's Stewardship Investing values. What sets it apart is the values screening, and that screening costs more: its 0.36% expense ratio is well above the 0.11% average of similar funds. It is also small, with about $76 million in assets as of June 30, 2026.

    How it works

PRXV measures itself against the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index, which holds the value stocks within the CRSP US Large Cap Index. Value stocks are shares that trade at lower prices relative to their earnings or assets. The fund must keep at least 80% of its net assets in companies from that index that also pass Praxis's screens. The screens reflect six core values, including respect for the dignity of all people, a world free from violence, justice, responsible management, support for communities and care for the environment.

The fund does not buy every stock in the index. Instead, the adviser uses optimization software, which compares the portfolio's risk traits with the index's and picks holdings that keep the two as close as possible within the screening rules. The fund expects to hold 250 to 350 companies. As of June 30, 2026, it held 275. The largest were Micron Technology (4.7%), JPMorgan Chase (3.4%) and Johnson & Johnson (2.7%), and the top 10 made up 22.8% of assets. Financials were the biggest sector at 19.7%. Portfolio turnover was 14%.

There is no leverage and there are no derivatives. The fund is legally non-diversified, so it may put larger amounts into fewer companies. The screens can also cause tracking error, meaning returns that differ from the index's.

    What it really costs

    In a retirement portfolio

    RoleCore holding

It offers a broad, values-screened basket of 275 large US value stocks that could anchor the stock side of a portfolio for investors who want that screening.

PRXV gives broad exposure to large US value companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart and Procter & Gamble, filtered through Praxis's values screens. The fund launched on April 8, 2025, so it has no record through the 2008, 2020 or 2022 sell-offs, and its prospectus shows no calendar-year returns. That makes it hard to judge how deeply it might fall in a downturn or how long it might take to recover, which matters for anyone who may need to sell shares in a bad year. The prospectus also warns that value stocks can trail the broader market for years. Its cost is 0.36%: about $37 in the first year and $116 over three years on $10,000. Past results don't predict the future, and a plan should look at the whole portfolio, not one fund.

Who it may suit — and who should look elsewhere

    May suit

    • Investors who want large US value stocks screened against Praxis's Stewardship Investing values, such as peace, justice and environmental stewardship.
    • Investors who accept paying 0.36% a year, about $37 on $10,000 in the first year, in exchange for values screening.
    • Investors who want a value mix spread across about 275 companies and led by financials, health care and technology.

    Look elsewhere if

    • Cost-focused investors: VTV, SPYV and IUSV charge 0.04%, and VTV overlaps with 72% of PRXV's holdings.
    • Investors who want a long track record: PRXV launched April 8, 2025, and has no history through the 2020 or 2022 sell-offs.
    • Investors placing large trades: with about $76 million in assets, it is the smallest of eight similar funds, and shares may trade away from their underlying value.

    Questions investors ask

    Is PRXV good for retirement?

It may suit retirees who want large US value stocks screened against Praxis's Stewardship Investing values, but it has a short history. The fund launched April 8, 2025, so it has no record through earlier market crashes. It held 275 companies as of June 30, 2026, led by Micron, JPMorgan Chase and Johnson & Johnson. It charges 0.36% a year, more than most similar funds. The prospectus warns that value stocks can lag the overall market for multiple years.

What's the difference between PRXV and VTV?

The main differences are cost, size and values screening. Vanguard Value ETF (VTV) charges 0.04% a year, compared with 0.36% for PRXV. VTV had about $254 billion in net assets as of June 30, 2026, while PRXV had about $76 million. The two overlap by 72% of holdings. PRXV also screens out companies that conflict with Praxis's core values. VTV returned 25.4% over the year to October 30, 2026. PRXV's comparable return wasn't available for this page.

How does PRXV choose its stocks?

PRXV starts with companies in the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index and applies Praxis's proprietary values screens. The screens are based on six core values, including respect for the dignity of all people, a world free from violence, justice and care for the environment. Optimization software then picks holdings so the fund's risk and return traits stay close to the index's. The fund doesn't hold every index stock and expects to own 250 to 350 companies.

    What are PRXV's top holdings?

As of June 30, 2026, PRXV's largest holdings were Micron Technology (4.7%), JPMorgan Chase (3.4%), Johnson & Johnson (2.7%), Walmart (2.1%) and AbbVie (2.0%). Cisco, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Bank of America and Home Depot completed the top 10, which together made up 22.8% of assets. By sector, financials led at 19.7%, followed by health care at 13.6% and technology at 13.1%. About 95.6% of assets were in US companies.

    What is PRXV's expense ratio?

PRXV's expense ratio is 0.36%, according to its prospectus filed April 20, 2026. Under the SEC's standard example, $10,000 invested with a 5% annual return would cost about $37 in the first year and $116 over three years. That ranks last on cost among eight similar funds, where the average is 0.11%. Vanguard Value ETF, SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Value ETF and iShares Core S&P U.S. Value ETF each charge 0.04%.
