How it works

INFO does not track an index. Harbor hired PanAgora Asset Management as subadvisor to run the fund actively, and it measures itself against the S&P 500. At least 80% of net assets must go into large companies. The fund counts a company as large if its size falls within the range of the Russell 1000 or the S&P 500. As of December 31, 2025, those ranges started at $1.03 billion and $5.82 billion and topped out at $4.53 trillion. Most holdings are US companies.

PanAgora builds a separate forecasting model for each stock. Each model combines many "alpha factors" (alpha means return above the benchmark) grouped into value, momentum and quality. It adds in-house ESG (environmental, social and governance) factors drawn from sources such as corporate filings, earnings call transcripts and board makeup. ESG feeds into each stock's score but does not screen stocks out, so a company with a weak ESG score can still be bought.

An optimizer then sets position sizes. It seeks the most expected excess return for a given level of risk. It also watches tracking error (how far returns may drift from the S&P 500), market risk and concentration. The prospectus sets no fixed rebalancing schedule, and it reports portfolio turnover of 53%. The fund is non-diversified, so it may hold bigger stakes in fewer companies. It held no derivatives as of July 31, 2026.

What it really costs

  • INFO charges 0.35% a year, versus an average of 0.11% for the similar funds below (9th of 9, cheapest first).
  • Using the prospectus's standard example, $10,000 invested would cost about $36 in the first year and $443 over 10 years (assuming a 5% annual return).

In a retirement portfolio

RoleCore holding

It holds a broad mix of large US stocks and had a one-year beta of 1, so it has moved much like the overall market while trying to beat the S&P 500.

INFO could fill the large-cap US stock slot that an S&P 500 fund often fills, but its record is short. It launched on October 8, 2024, so it was not around for the 2008, 2020 or 2022 sell-offs. Its only full calendar year, 2025, returned 19.54%. Within that year it fell 19.6% from January 23 to April 8, 2025, then regained its peak by June 24, about 2.5 months later. A retiree who had to sell near that low would have locked in a loss, and future drops may last longer.

It pays little income: the yield was 0.32% as of October 27, 2026, paid once a year. In the SEC's standard $10,000 example, the fund's 0.35% expense ratio adds up to $443 over 10 years. That is more than most similar funds charge. Past results don't predict the future, and a plan should look at the whole portfolio, not one fund.

Who it may suit — and who should look elsewhere

May suit

  • Investors wanting a large-company fund where PanAgora's computer-driven models, including ESG (environmental, social, governance) factors, pick stocks to try to beat the S&P 500.
  • Investors comfortable with concentration: the top 10 of 146 stocks, led by NVIDIA and Apple, held 41% of assets as of July 31, 2026.
  • Long-term investors seeking price growth rather than income: the yield was 0.32% as of October 27, 2026, with payouts once a year.

Look elsewhere if

  • Cost-focused investors: the 0.35% expense ratio was the highest of 9 funds compared, against a 0.11% peer average and 0.03% for Vanguard's VOO.
  • Investors wanting a long track record: INFO launched in October 2024, so it has no results from the 2022 market slump or the 2008 crisis.
  • Investors needing steadier values, such as retirees drawing cash soon: INFO fell 19.6% from January to April 2025, recovering by June 2025.

Questions investors ask

Is INFO an index fund or actively managed?

INFO is actively managed and has no index to track. Its subadvisor, PanAgora Asset Management, picks large-cap stocks with quantitative models built on value, momentum, quality and ESG factors. An optimizer then sets the weights to try to beat the S&P 500 without straying too far from it. This approach costs more, at 0.35% a year. The prospectus also warns of model risk: the factors may not predict returns.

What's the difference between INFO and VOO?

VOO tracks the S&P 500 and charges 0.03% a year. INFO is actively managed, uses the S&P 500 as its benchmark and charges 0.35%. About 55% of their holdings overlap. INFO returned 16% over the year to October 27, 2026. VOO returned 12.4% over the year to October 30, 2026. VOO is far larger: it had $1.67 trillion in net assets as of June 30, 2026, while INFO had $843 million as of July 31, 2026.

Does INFO pay a dividend?

Yes, but the dividend is small and paid once a year. Over the trailing 12 months the fund paid about $0.09 per share, a yield of 0.32% as of October 27, 2026. That is low for a stock fund. Technology made up 34.7% of the portfolio's covered assets as of July 31, 2026. Investors looking for steady income from their holdings would likely need other sources alongside it.

What are INFO's top holdings?

As of July 31, 2026, the largest positions were NVIDIA (8.0%), Apple (7.6%), Alphabet (6.3%), Microsoft (5.3%), Amazon (3.5%) and Broadcom (3.1%). The top 10 of its 146 holdings made up 40.9% of the fund. Technology was the biggest sector at 34.7% of covered assets, followed by financials at 10.8%. The fund is non-diversified, so it may hold larger stakes in fewer companies.

How much did INFO drop in 2025?

INFO's deepest decline was 19.6%, from January 23 to April 8, 2025. It got back to its earlier peak by June 24, 2025, about 2.5 months later. Its worst quarter was the first quarter of 2025, when it fell 5.5%. Even with that slump, the fund returned 19.54% for all of 2025. It launched in October 2024, so it has no record through earlier downturns such as 2020 or 2022.
