The business in plain English
Skyworks Solutions designs and makes analog and mixed-signal chips. These handle real-world signals, such as radio waves and electrical power, rather than pure computing. Its core products are radio-frequency (RF) parts that let devices send and receive wireless signals. Amplifiers boost a phone's signal enough to reach a cell tower. Filters pull apart overlapping signals. Front-end modules combine several of these jobs in one package. It also makes timing chips for data centers and power isolators for electric cars and solar inverters.
Its customers are device makers. The 10-K names Apple, Samsung, Google, Amazon, Cisco, Tesla and Xiaomi among roughly 6,900 customers. Skyworks earns money when a customer designs its chips into a new phone, router or car, then orders them in volume as that product ships. It runs some of its own factories and relies on outside partners for other manufacturing. Rivals include Broadcom, Qualcomm, Murata and Qorvo.
In fiscal 2025, which ended October 3, 2025, revenue was $4.09 billion. The 10-K attributes 77.2% of it to the United States, followed by Taiwan (6.3%), China (6.2%) and South Korea (4.7%). Phones remain central, but the company is pushing into cars, data centers, wireless infrastructure and industrial equipment. It also agreed to merge with Qorvo, a deal it said would substantially change the size and scope of its business.

What could go wrong
- Qorvo merger could stall or disappoint. The 10-K says the planned merger with rival Qorvo needs regulatory approvals, could be delayed or fail, and may not deliver expected benefits. Meanwhile, the agreement restricts Skyworks' business activities.
- Merger brings substantial new debt. Skyworks said the deal requires substantial new borrowing. Debt was $496.9 million as of July 3, 2026, but filings on August 10 and October 7, 2026 reported new debt obligations.
- Heavy reliance on a few customers. Key customers include Apple, Samsung and Google, and the 10-K says a small number of customers provide a large portion of sales. Losing a major phone or device design could cut revenue sharply.
- China exposure across customers and suppliers. Skyworks, its customers and its suppliers all face China-related risks, the 10-K warns. China provided 6.2% of fiscal 2025 revenue, and Chinese phone makers OPPO, VIVO and Xiaomi are named customers.
- Complex manufacturing and outside suppliers. Its chip-making processes are highly specialized and can be disrupted, and yields (the share of usable chips) may slip. It also depends on outside firms for some manufacturing, assembly, testing and raw materials.
- A cyclical, fiercely competitive industry. Chip demand rises and falls sharply. Revenue fell from $5.49 billion in fiscal 2022 to $4.09 billion in fiscal 2025, while rivals such as Broadcom, Qualcomm and Murata compete for the same designs.

For income and retirement investors
Skyworks has increased its dividend at least nine years in a row, through fiscal 2025. Dividends per share grew from $1.82 in fiscal 2020 to $2.81 in fiscal 2025, about 9.1% a year, and the yield was 2.44% as of October 28, 2026. The dividend took 90.7% of fiscal 2025 earnings but 39.1% of free cash flow (cash left after running and investing in the business). From fiscal 2021 to 2025, Skyworks spent $2.17 billion on buybacks, and the share count fell 9% between November 2021 and July 2026. The 10-K says neither is guaranteed, and the Qorvo merger requires substantial new debt.
Downturns hit the shares hard. They fell 66% in the 2008 financial crisis, recovering by July 2009, and 43% in the 2020 COVID crash, recovering by May 2020. In the 2022 bear market they fell 50% and had not recovered as of October 28, 2026. A single stock carries more risk than a diversified fund.
Questions investors ask
How does Skyworks make money?
Skyworks makes money from chips that help devices send and receive wireless signals and manage power. Makers of phones, routers, cars and equipment design its amplifiers, filters, front-end modules and timing chips into their products, then order them in volume. In fiscal 2025, which ended October 3, 2025, revenue was $4.09 billion, net income was $477 million and free cash flow was $1.11 billion. Gross margin, the share of revenue left after the direct cost of making the chips, was 41.2%.
Who are Skyworks' main customers?
Apple, Samsung, Google and Amazon are among the key customers named in Skyworks' 10-K, along with Microsoft, Cisco, Tesla and Chinese phone makers OPPO, VIVO and Xiaomi. In all, it has roughly 6,900 customers. The company warns that a small number of customers provide a large portion of sales, so losing one major device design could hurt results. The United States accounted for 77.2% of fiscal 2025 revenue, far ahead of Taiwan at 6.3% and China at 6.2%.
Does Skyworks raise its dividend every year?
Yes, so far. Skyworks has increased its dividend at least nine years in a row, through fiscal 2025. Dividends per share rose from $1.82 in fiscal 2020 to $2.81 in fiscal 2025, and the yield was 2.44% as of October 28, 2026. The dividend took 90.7% of fiscal 2025 earnings, leaving little cushion if profits keep falling, but only 39.1% of free cash flow. The 10-K says future dividends are not assured.
Is Skyworks merging with Qorvo?
Skyworks agreed to merge with Qorvo, a direct competitor, according to its 10-K filed November 7, 2025. At that point the deal still needed regulatory approvals, could be delayed or fail, and would require substantial new debt. Later filings point to big changes. An October 5, 2026 report disclosed a completed acquisition or sale of assets, plus executive or board changes. Reports on August 10 and October 7, 2026 disclosed new debt obligations.
Why has Skyworks stock fallen over the past five years?
The decline tracked a sharp drop in profits. The share price fell about 41% in the five years to October 28, 2026, roughly 10% a year. Revenue slid from $5.49 billion in fiscal 2022 to $4.09 billion in fiscal 2025. Net income fell from $1.50 billion in fiscal 2021 to $477 million in fiscal 2025. In the quarter ended July 3, 2026, it was $33.9 million, down 67.7% from a year earlier. The shares did rebound 40.4% in 2026 through October 28.
