How it works
IWFG does not track an index. Winslow Capital, the subadvisor, chooses the stocks. At least 80% of assets go into large growth companies. That means firms worth more than $10 billion when bought that Winslow judges to be growth companies. Signs of growth include being in a growth index, or sales, earnings or free cash flow growth above the market median. Up to 20% may go into foreign stocks, including American Depositary Receipts (US-traded shares of foreign companies). As of July 31, 2026, about 87.6% of the fund was in US companies and 7.2% in Irish-domiciled companies such as Seagate.
The manager works "bottom-up," which means it studies individual companies rather than the economy. It looks for firms that are gaining market share, have lasting competitive advantages and earn high, ideally rising, returns on invested capital. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are part of the research. They do not rule out stocks on their own. Winslow may sell a stock when it looks fully valued, when the business outlook worsens or when the position grows past its limits. Portfolio turnover was 54%.
The fund is "non-diversified," so it can put large amounts into a few stocks. As of July 31, 2026, its top 10 holdings made up 63.6% of assets. Technology made up 40.3% of the portion with sector data. The fund held no derivatives.
What it really costs
- IWFG charges 0.46% a year, versus an average of 0.4% for the similar funds below (4th of 9, cheapest first).
- Of that, 0.75% is the management fee; the rest covers other fund expenses.
- The fee includes a 0.48% waiver from the adviser, which may end.
- Using the prospectus's standard example, $10,000 invested would cost about $47 in the first year and $792 over 10 years (assuming a 5% annual return).
| Cost of $10,000 (SEC example) | 1 yr | 3 yrs | 5 yrs | 10 yrs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IWFG | $47 | $189 | $343 | $792 |
In a retirement portfolio
It is a concentrated, actively managed bet on about 25 to 35 large growth stocks, it pays no income, and it has moved more than the market.
IWFG could add concentrated exposure to large US growth companies next to a broad core fund. It does not provide income. It made no distributions in the year to October 27, 2026, so any cash taken from it would come from selling shares. Its record is short. The fund launched in June 2022, so it was not around for the 2008 or 2020 crashes, and its record does not cover the 2022 bear market. Its deepest drop was 22%, from January 23 to April 8, 2025, and it recovered by June 6, 2025. Every full calendar year has been positive, and 2025's 14.15% was the weakest. Its one-year beta of 1.37 means it has swung more than the market, which hurts anyone forced to sell in a slump. The SEC's $10,000 example puts costs at $792 over 10 years. Past results don't predict the future, and a plan should look at the whole portfolio, not one fund.
Who it may suit — and who should look elsewhere
May suit
- Investors who want a hand-picked portfolio of 25 to 35 large growth stocks, led by NVIDIA, Alphabet and Amazon as of July 31, 2026.
- People adding a small satellite position beside a broad index fund who can accept a one-year beta of 1.37.
- Investors who prefer active stock picking with ESG research and don't need dividend income from this holding.
Look elsewhere if
- Retirees seeking income: the fund made no distributions in the year to October 27, 2026.
- Cost-focused investors: Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG) charges 0.04% versus IWFG's 0.46%, and their holdings overlap by 52%.
- Those wanting a long track record or a large fund: IWFG launched in June 2022 and had about $60.5 million as of July 31, 2026.

Questions investors ask
Does IWFG pay dividends?
No. IWFG made no distributions in the year to October 27, 2026, so its trailing yield was 0%. That fits its approach. It owns growth companies that tend to reinvest their earnings rather than pay large dividends. Investors who need regular cash from a holding would have to sell shares of IWFG to get it. Income-focused stock funds work differently and may be worth comparing.
What's the difference between IWFG and IWLG?
IWLG, the NYLI Winslow Large Cap Growth ETF, is the closest match. As of the latest reports, 74% of its holdings overlap with IWFG's. IWFG is the focused version, with about 25 to 35 core positions. IWLG charges 0.60% compared with IWFG's 0.46%, and it had about $312 million in net assets compared with IWFG's $60.5 million as of July 31, 2026. As of October 27, 2026, IWLG returned 0.2% over one year and IWFG returned -2.6%. Over three years, the two were close: 23.9% and 23.6% a year.
What is IWFG's expense ratio?
IWFG's expense ratio is 0.46%, according to the prospectus filed August 26, 2026. That net figure reflects a 0.75% management fee reduced by a 0.48% fee waiver. If a waiver ends, costs can rise. The average for similar funds is 0.40%, and IWFG ranks 4th cheapest of 9. In the SEC's standard example, a $10,000 investment earning 5% a year would cost $47 in one year and $792 over 10 years.
How has IWFG performed since launch?
IWFG has had strong calendar years but a weaker recent stretch. The prospectus shows returns of 38.34% in 2023, 37.53% in 2024 and 14.15% in 2025. Its average annual return since its June 2022 launch was 26.39% through December 31, 2025. As of October 27, 2026, its one-year price return was -2.6%, the lowest among 9 similar funds, and 2026 was up just 0.93% for the year to that date.
What stocks does IWFG hold?
As of July 31, 2026, IWFG held 27 stocks. The largest were NVIDIA (14.1%), Alphabet (11.8%), Amazon (6.9%), Microsoft (5.3%), Apple (5.1%), Seagate Technology (4.9%) and Broadcom (4.3%). The top 10 made up 63.6% of assets, and technology was 40.3% of the portion with sector data. Because the portfolio is this concentrated, a setback at one or two large holdings can move the whole fund.
